Crissy is from the small town of Higdon, Alabama. She obtained her undergraduate and master’s degrees from The University of Alabama.
Crissy received undergraduate degrees in Human Development and Family Studies as well as Early Childhood Education at Alabama. Realizing her passion for helping others, she went back to Alabama and earned her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. Coupled with her graduate studies, she completed internships with Sprayberry Alternative School and Phoenix House residential rehab facility.
During her time at Sprayberry Alternative School, Crissy worked alongside teachers and families to help students ages 10-18 with behavioral issues, anger, anxiety, depression, and navigating life changes. This internship experience furthered Crissy’s passion in working with adolescents and families. During her time at Phoenix House, Crissy had the opportunity to lead group sessions focusing on addiction recovery, relationship issues, coping skills, and family struggles with men ages 18-70.
Crissy has worked with a diverse clientele of individuals, children, adolescents, families, and couples. This experience has further fueled her passion to empower people to make healthy changes in their lives. She specializes in helping clients navigating anxiety, depression, relationship issues, ADHD, grief, life transitions, self-esteem, parenting, trauma, and addiction.
